A great starting point for aero tuning is the rear diffuser.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhy would we start with a rear diffuser? Rear diffusers are extremely efficient downforce-producing devices when designed properly. We set out to produce a functional rear diffuser for the Corvette Stingray (C8) using state-of-the-art CFD processes and good design practices. The result is a diffuser that adds stability by creating low pressure on the bottom surface and reducing drag by reducing the wake region behind the vehicle, thereby reducing the force pulling the car rearward and generating downforce. This makes a diffuser an ideal starting point for any owner focusing on aerodynamic tuning.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eUtilizing scan data, CAD, and OpenFOAM analysis software, we were able to design and produce a functional diffuser that matches the Stingray's design language. The rear diffuser performs well, providing adequate performance increases for the casual everyday drivers and avid track-day enthusiasts alike.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe diffuser body is manufactured\u003cfont class=\"text-black\"\u003e from 5052 Aluminum Sheet Metal, and then CNC Laser Cut and press brake-bent for an OEM-Plus fit and finish.
