Choose for the driving you do most
Start with an ordinary week. How much time does the car spend commuting, running errands, or carrying passengers? How much of it is actually spent at an autocross or track day?
If you want a modest change and are sensitive to vibration, 60A is the place to start. It is the comfort-oriented choice in this lineup, though “soft” still doesn’t mean identical to the factory mount.
If the car is your daily driver and you want a more deliberate step toward drivetrain control, 70A is a sensible middle ground. It is worth considering when you want more feedback without immediately choosing one of the firmer options.
85A moves the balance further toward control. It suits owners who put greater value on that firmer feel and are comfortable accepting more vibration during regular driving. An occasional event doesn’t automatically require it; your comfort preferences still count.
95A is the firmest polyurethane option here. Choose it because you want that tradeoff, not because your build needs the highest number available. A car you enjoy on a short weekend drive may feel very different when you spend every morning in it.
For most daily-driven cars, our starting recommendation is 60A or 70A.
Be realistic about noise and vibration
You will often see the abbreviation NVH, meaning noise, vibration, and harshness. In everyday terms, it describes how much of the engine’s activity reaches you inside the car.
Added feedback is part of the decision when you install a firmer mount. What one owner describes as a welcome sense of connection may be more than another owner wants on the commute.
GGP’s product guidance notes that vibration can be especially noticeable during break-in. Even so, choose a bushing whose general comfort tradeoff you can live with. Break-in should not be treated as a promise that a firm mount will eventually feel like the factory setup.
It also helps to separate an upgrade decision from a repair decision. A new clunk, damaged mount, or unusual change in the way the car drives deserves inspection before you assume a stiffer bushing is the answer.
You can change your mind later
